ELEKTRA/ GENERATION X: Handoff Part 3 written by Quamp
(Front cover. In one area Elektra fights Kuroyama. In another the White Queen struggles against Adrienne Frost. In the third area the rest of Generation X fights Hand ninjas.)
Cap (N): Hands on! Hands off!
(Page 1, panel 1. Outside of the academy. Several Hand ninjas including Kuroyama are poised to attack. With them is Adrienne Frost, wearing a blue spandex outfit.)
Cap (N): Meanwhile...
Adrienne: Do what you want with the children... but Emma is mine.
(Panel 2. They arrive at the library.)
Kuroyama: She is nearby... I can feel her presence.
(Panel 3. Go back to the teens of Generation X. They are still reading the stories Elektra assigned them.)
Cap (J1): My name is Jubilation Lee.
Cap (J2): And right now, I’d rather be having a root canal without anesthesia than doing this.
Cap (J3):How can people just sit there and read things?
Jubilee: I like totally give up. This is sooo bogus!
(Panel 4. Suddenly several ninjas crash through the window.)
Cap (J1): This is something else that happens a lot in my life.
Cap (J2): People just think they can come right in and kill us all.
Cap (J3): Many have tried.
Cap (J4): None have succeeded.*
Cap (J5): But some have come close...
Ninja: There they are!
Synch: Uh-oh.
Cap (N): *Jubilee seems to have forgotten about Blink and Mondo, rest their souls.
(Panel 5. The members of the Hand surround the members of Generation X. Synch gets his aura in sync with M.)
Ninja: You have interfered with the Hand... therefore, you must die.
Jubilee: Come and try it, you feebs!
(Page 2, panel 1. A ninja swings at Jubilee, slashing her dress. Jubilee retaliates by firing her energy plasmoids.)
SFX: SLASH! Paf! Pip! Paf!
(Panel 2. Zero G strikes a ninja from behind, sending that ninja to a wall.)
Zero G’s thoughts: A little well-timed gravity decrease and increase should make him feel maximum pain.
SFX: POW!
Ninja: [What the --!?]*
Cap (N): *Translated from the original Japanese.
(Panel 3. M strikes a ninja in the jaw with a diving kick.)
SFX: WHAM!
Synch: Send a telepathic communication, M!
M: On it!
(Panel 4. Go over to see the White Queen grading papers in her office.)
Cap (N): Meanwhile...
Cap (Q1): My name is Emma Frost.
Cap (Q2): That’s about the only thing I can be sure of these days.
Cap (Q3): That and I’ll always have work to do.
Psi balloon: Ms. Frost, we’re under attack by those ninjas!
Psi balloon: (Pointing to the White Queen) I’m on my way, Monet.
Voice: (from off panel) Stay right where you are, sister.
(Page 3, splash page. Leave room for credits here. Adrienne Frost enters, along with two Hand ninjas.)
Cap (Q1): My name is Emma Frost.
Cap (Q2): And this day just went from bad to worse.
Adrienne: Surprised to see me?
Queen: Adrienne! You’re supposed to be in jail!
(Page 4, panel 1. Adrienne approaches the White Queen.)
Adrienne: I hated being there! You left me to rot like some bad fruit, sister! And after all I did for you! This place would be tract housing now if it wasn’t for me!
White Queen: You hired someone to murder your husband, Adrienne. You should have known that you couldn’t get away with that.
(Panel 2. Adrienne attacks the White Queen, taking a swing at her, and missing.)
Adrienne: Mother always liked you best!
Queen: It’s been a long time coming, Adrienne... Now we’ll duke it out.
(Panel 4. The two of them connect with blows to the jaw.)
SFX: Wham!
(Panel 5. The two ninjas grab the White Queen’s arms.)
Queen: HEY!
Adrienne: Now, little sister... I will have my revenge...
(Panel 6. Banshee enters.)
Banshee: Crikey O’Riley!
Queen: Banshee, I could some help here!
Adrienne: Stay out of this, Irish.
(Page 5, panel 1. Banshee advances, using his sonic power on one of the ninjas.)
Banshee: NAEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!
(Panel 2. The White Queen psi-stuns the other ninja, and pushes him into Adrienne.)
Ninja: [AH!]
Queen: You can throw all the little toys you want at me, but I will not give up!
Adrienne: All the better when I see you fall, Emma.
(Panel 3. Adrienne manages to strike the White Queen in the stomach.)
SFX: Whok!
(Panel 4. Go over to Elektra. She walks down a corridor, and straight into Kuroyama.)
Elektra: You!
Kuroyama: You have failed in your quest to guide these children to the path... for as we speak, my minions are slaughtering them like cattle.
(Panel 6. Kuroyama draws out his sickle on a chain as Elektra draws her sais.)
Kuroyama: Now it is your turn to join them.
Elektra: Don’t count me out yet, Kuroyama. Finding me and defeating me are two very different things.
(Page 6, panel 1. Kuroyama attacks Elektra, who defends herself.)
Kuroyama: You will never win, kunochi!
Elektra: That remains to be seen.
(Panel 2. Kuroyama attacks Elektra with his sickle and chain. Elektra dives to avoid being hit.)
Kuroyama: Run all you want, but you cannot hide from defeat!
(Panel 3. Elektra manages to catch Kuroyama with a blow to his leg.)
SFX: Whok!
Kuroyama: You are like a bothersome gnat to me, Elektra... and today, that gnat will bother me no more.
(Panel 4. Kuroyama slashes Elektra’s hair with his sickle, though he was aiming for her neck.)
SFX: SLASH!
(Panel 5. Elektra strikes Kuroyama with the butt of her sai.)
SFX: POW!
(Page 7, panel 1. Go back to the Generation X teens. They continue to fight the ninjas, and start to repel them. M and Synch make diving punches from the air onto two separate ninjas. Husk, in a metallic form, strikes another ninja. Jubilee shoots her energy plasmoids into a ninja’s face. Chamber fires on still more ninjas.)
SFX: POW! WHACK! Pip! Paf!
Synch: Don’t get overconfident, guys!
Jubilee: We’ve pushed back a lot of these clowns! How many are there?
(Panel 2. Zero G uses her power to push one ninja into another.)
Zero G: Beats me, Jubilee... but that’s about the only thing that’s going to beat us today!
SFX: WHAM!
(Panel 4. One ninja begins throwing shurikens at Generation X, who scatters in response to this.)
Jubilee: Shurikens at 4 o’clock, guys!
M: We’re on it, Jubilee.
(Panel 5. M makes a diving tackle onto the ninja, causing him to fall onto one of his shurikens.)
SFX: CRASH!
(Panel 6. The ninjas continue to fight, drawing ninja weapons.)
Ninja: [We will not be beaten by kids! We are the Hand! We are a mighty sect!]
Jubilee: Not from what I heard, you dweeb!
(Page 8, panel 1. Husk is in a metallic form, and dives at a ninja, striking him.)
SFX: POW!
(Panel 2. A ninja slashes Husk’s leg, causing a large cut. Blood spurts out.)
SFX: SLASH!
Husk: AH!!
(Panel 3. Chamber shoots the ninja that slashed Husk, sending him into another ninja.)
SFX: WHOMPH!
(Panel 4. Chamber checks on Husk.)
Psi balloon: Paige, how bad is it?
Husk: Ah’ll make it, but we’ve got bigger problems! Heads up!
(Panel 5. Chamber dives as a ninja swings a tanto at him.)
Psi balloon: (pointing at Chamber) Whoa!
(Page 9, panel 1. Jubilee looks over Husk.)
Jubilee: Ohmigawd! Husk is down!
M: Jubilee, look out!!
(Panel 2. A ninja skewers Jubilee’s arm, stinking his katana through her forearm.)
Ninja: Die!!
SFX: SHLURK!
Jubilee: AH!!
(Panel 3. Jubilee fires plasmoids, hitting the ninja while she nurses her arm.)
Jubilee: You dweeb!!
SFX: Paf! Pip! Paf!
Synch: Jubilee!
(Panel 4. Synch attends to Jubilee.)
Jubilee: I’ll be o.k. , just stop them!
(Page 10, panel 1. Zero G concentrates, and the ninja weapons rise into the air, some of them with the ninjas still holding them. Also going into the air is a ninja who was on top of her.)
Zero G: It will be harder to fight without weaponry.
(Panel 2. Go back to Adrienne Frost, the White Queen, Banshee and the two ninjas. Banshee is keeping the two ninjas at bay while the White Queen fights Adrienne Frost. The sisters are pulling each other’s hair, and Banshee uses his powers on the ninjas.)
Banshee: EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!
Adrienne: Give it up, sister... you know you can’t beat me.
(Panel 3. The White Queen flips Adrienne onto her back.)
Queen: Oh really?
SFX: THOOM!
(Panel 4. The White Queen gets Adrienne into a hammerlock.)
Queen: While we’re on the subject of abandonment... who was the one left to fend for herself after her mutant powers manifested themselves? Who was the one locked away in an insane asylum then? You never were big on family, sister.
(Panel 5. The two ninjas retreat after Banshee’s sonic assault.)
Ninja: [We must regroup! They have underestimated our opponents again!]
(Panel 6. Adrienne throws off the White Queen.)
Adrienne: Tough.
(Page 11, panel 1. Adrienne stands over the White Queen, who is on the ground.)
Adrienne: Too bad, Emma... I’ve always been the best of the Frost sisters.
(Panel 2. The White Queen does a handstand, kicking Adrienne in the process. This knocks Adrienne into a wall.)
Queen: Don’t count me out until I’m dead, Adrienne.
SFX: WHAM!
(Panel 3. Adrienne slumps over, out cold.)
Queen: We’re turning you over to the authorities, Adrienne... and this time, stay in jail.
(Panel 4. Banshee approaches the White Queen.)
Banshee: Are ye all right, Emma?
Queen:Yes... however, before I was attacked, I got a message from our students that they are in trouble...
(Panel 5. Go back to Kuroyama and Elektra. They are now on the roof of the main building, fighting each other. Rain is now falling on this cloudy afternoon.)
Kuroyama: Running will not help you now, Elektra.
Elektra: There is no more need to run, Kuroyama.
(Page 12, panel 1. The two of them struggle with each other.)
Kuroyama: You are feeble, woman... I will win, you know that.
Elektra: You derive your power from the Hand, Kuroyama...
(Panel 2. They continue to struggle.)
Elektra: ... Something which has been greatly diminished over recent months.
Kuroyama: You know you can never completely get rid of us.
(Panel 3. Elektra smiles slightly.)
Elektra: And you can never get rid of me.
(Panel 4. Elektra flips Kuroyama off the building. In panel 5, Kuroyama lands on a fountain with a pointed top on it. This impales Kuroyama in the chest.)
Elektra: Follow the warrior’s code, and you will win...
(Panel 6. Stick appears.)
Stick: Well, you got yourself a victory, girl...
Elektra: Such a victory is only a temporary gain... Kuroyama cannot be killed. He will be back. You really cannot kill someone who is already dead.
(Panel 7. Elektra removes Kuroyama’s shoe to show his left foot is a clawed foot, with sharp talons on it.)
Elektra: They had this fate in store for me.... Kuroyama was not as fortunate as I, as he is forever bonded to evil...
(Page 13, panel 1. Go back to the Generation X teens. The ninjas, tired of being repelled, retreat.)
Ninja: [Fall back and regroup! You may have won now, but we shall return!]
(Panel 2. The ninjas leave as Generation X follows them.)
Synch: Let them go! We’ve got injured here!
(Panel 3. One of the ninjas drops a smoke grenade, which explodes.)
SFX: Poof!
(Panel 4. When the smoke clears, they see Banshee and the White Queen there.)
Banshee: Are ye kids all right?
Synch: Jubilee and Husk are hurt.
M: You should have been there, Mr. Cassidy... we actually won for once!
(Panel 5. Enter Elektra.)
Elektra: You did well, everyone. However, They will be back... the Hand does not like being defeated.
(Page 14, panel 1. Infirmary. The members of Generation X are around Jubilee and Husk, who are sitting on separate beds. Husk is wearing a leg brace, and Jubilee is in an arm cast.)
Cap (N): The next morning, the injured get attention.
Banshee: Ye were mighty lucky, lassies. It could have been worse.
(Panel 2. Tristan enters.)
Tristan: Paige! I came as soon as I heard.
Husk: Tristan...
(Panel 3. Tristan puts an arm around Husk.)
Tristan: I want to make it better, Paige.
Husk: (smiles slightly) Having you here makes things better already.
(Panel 4. Later, in front of the school. The clouds are in the sky, but no rain falls. Elektra says good bye to Generation X.)
Cap (N1): The next afternoon...
Elektra: Continue to read, continue to train, and soon, you will have one of the best teams around. Defeats should never frustrate you; they come to you so that you may learn from them.
