Apocolypse's New Generation
by Jenni
Summary: The new students of Apocolypse must decide if they should
allow one of their sworn enemies to die, or risk angering the man that
they owe everything to.
DISCLAIMER: I own this time-line! Bwa ha ha ha ha. I may not own all
the characters, Marvel does, but I did make up all the changes in each
character. I do own Dream Weaver (Sandra) and Authority (Sean
Christopher). The idea for Apocolypse training Generation X came from
the orphan ideas board. Thank you for your time. On with the story.

PROLOGUE:
In one of the many dark chambers in Apocolypse's Egyptian crypt:
"I am ashamed that you continued to run the DNA program against my
wishes Sinister. And couldn't you have found a higher quality gene in
that... girl."
"Things worked out for the best though. Her gene analysis proved that
she will one day become a very strong mutant. And because of your
team's *rescue*, Nate Grey has joined."
"True as that may be, you still went against my wishes." Apocolypse
blasted Sinister with energy against the wall. Sinister actually bled
and felt pain. "Let this be a reminder. If you ever dare to cross me
again, you will die."
As Sinister crawled out of the room, Apocolypse entered his computer
and looked at his entries of allies. His children would be the new
generation of hope. Combined, they would be stronger than even him. He
grinned. His plan of mutant rule was coming true. With them at his
side, he will not fail.
END PROLOGUE
"C'mon Sandra! Apocolypse told us to look through Sinister's lab, grab
the solution, then bolt!" Vincente held open the dimensional portal
created by Shift.
"One minute! I think that the high lord would find this notepad...
interesting..." Dreamweaver ran to Misty and went through the portal
back to their base. As she landed, she pushed a handsome young man off
his feet.
"Watch yer step luv." said Jonothon as he turned around and kissed his
girlfriend.
"Hey boss-lady, you finish the job? Ah cain't take 'nother of
Apocolypse's lectures." Said Paige Guthrie, a.k.a. Slash, as she walked
into the room, playing with an old CD player.
"Yes, I did. Plus I got a little something extra. Its in Arabic though,
think you can deceifer it Nicolette?" said Sandra as she worked herself
from Chamber's embrace.
The girl, who most of the people hunted by the Phalanx had thought was
Monet, was really her twin sisters' who were eternally trapped in the
same body. Nicolette, who was affectionately known by her teammates as
Penance, took the pad and began reading it. No one seemed to notice as
a Hispanic boy helped up another young woman who had collapsed from
exhaustion.
"I think Clarice aqui had un poco too much action ahora. I guess we
can't make her keep a portal open that long." Angelo Espinosa, Skin,
lifted the girl up and propped her up against the wall. To his suprise,
the wall came out to meet her.
"Gregory, sheesh. Don't scare me like that, K Amigo?"
"Gregory sorry." The large Phalanx creature showed himself and sat down
next to the sleeping Clarice. "What this talk of notepad?"
"It appears to be the location of two mutants that Mr. Essex is holding
captive. Without our High lord's knowledge, may I add. I thought that
he was to report to Apocolypse all his work in exchange for more
advanced technology." Nicolette fingered the pages of the pad.
"So? We gonna go make him pay?" Angelo asked, while lighting a
cigarette.
"Ah'm wit' you Angelito. We have ta show him not ta mess with En Sabah
Nur." Paige already started shedding her skin, revealing a harsh rock
skin underneath.
"We must wait first. Jono, alert Authority to the situation. Gregory,
wake up Clarice. Vincente, go to Apocolypse and inform him to what is
happening. We will strike if he allows it." Sandra walked over to a
stray crate that the team used as a chair in their small war room and
sat down. "Any questions, or objections?"
No one answered. No one dared to. Dream Weaver was the toughest of
them all. She had lived through the mutant camps set up by the
government, until Apocolypse saw her in one of the testing labs and
saved her, bringing her here to lead his new hope. His new generation
of chosen ones.
"Fine, now go to it."
Each person went about their given task. Five minutes later, S.C.,
a.k.a. Authority, had come in from outside, leaving behind an
interesting talk with a local viper. Vincente had returned, informing
them all that En Sabah Nur would join them momentarily.
"My students, congratulations on your success. Your mission was, eye
opening to say the least. But you can not allow one victory to make you
overconfident. Now, about this new information of Sinister's. I would
like all of you to go and investigate the location given by this.
Phalanx, you will remain here in case backup is required and to monitor
the com-links. The rest of you will go and bring his test subjects to
me. Dismissed." Apocolypse appeared from nowhere, then vanished
instantly, as if he had never been there to begin with.
"Ah say that we head out an' bust Sinister up fer tryin ta mess with
us." Paige was hitting her stone fists together. Dream Weaver rose up.
"You heard the man, let's head out." Sandra waited until all of her
teammates, with the exception of Jonothon and Gregory, before she
approached Clarice, who was only just starting to get up.
"You okay to go on this run? I... we don't wanna push you too hard if
you're not ready." She offered her hand to the younger girl.
"I think that if I try, I can get by." Shift whispered, looking down
at the ground.
"Alright, you don't fight unless its necessary. You only get us there
and back." Sandra helped her up, then fell in step behind Jonothon and
headed outside.
------
"Mon dieu." Nicolette brushed sand out of her long black hair. "I HATE
Egypt. I hate arrid deserts."
"Cry me a river Penance. Vato, what'd that snake you were chatting with
have to say?" Asked Angelo as he kicked a light brown rock. He figured
that it wasn't normal for S.C. to only talk to animals. He was part of
the movement to get him talking to normal people again.
"Not much. And it was a viper. He said rain is coming. I think seeing
someone out this far in the desert alarmed him." Sean Christopher
prefered animals to humans. They rarely turned on their own kind for no
good reason. He knew his current *friends* could be trusted, but he
still prefered being around creatures that made sense.
"So how we gonna hit 'em? No prisoners, or reconisence mission?" Paige
had picked up a scarb off the ground and was examinig the hieroglyphics
on it.
"Girl, all you think about is war and books. Ever heard of happy
thoughts? Maybe we need to get you watching some old Looney Tunes
cartoons." Vincente swirled up in the air as a gas and slowly let
himself rest in a fog in the center of them all.
"Well Mates, I think that as soon as Clarice is ready, we can 'ead out
and bring in wot may be new teammates." Jonothon walked out of their
hidden underground base/resting chamber into the blazing sun.
Sandra and Clarice slowly walked out. Sandra shielded her eyes. "You
sure you wanna do this?" She softly asked Clarice.
The younger girl nodded slowly.
Sandra moved to the center of her team. "We will be going on a basic
run. Find the prisoners. Bring them to the high lord. If we run into
anyone who thinks that they can stop us, we set them straight. Slash,
you're our point woman. Misty, you're our scout, as usual. Authority,
see if you can find any desert coyotes to join in our quest. If there
are no questions, Shift will open the portal and we'll head out."
Everyone stood at attention and faced their leader. Clarice opened the
bluish-purple vortex and they all stepped through, only to find
themselves outside a warehouse on a pier.
"We appear to be at a harbor in Rhode Island. The warehouse used to
belong to an old chemicals company that was shut down for inhumane
treatment to animals and humans." Nicolette said, looking in disgust at
the old building.
"Door's locked all." Paige tugged at the iron door.
"Misty." Dream Weaver looked at the transparent figure with them and
pointed at the door.
"All's clear on the other side." He stuck his head through the door,
then looked back at them.
"Chamber, blow down the door. Then work with Penance to connect us all
mentally."
Chamber stepped in front of them and blew the door down. The team all
looked inside, only to see what they definitely hadn't expected.
~Its just a warehouse.~ said Slash in disbelief as she looked around.
~I sense that there is more than meets the eye here.~ Penance said as
she slowly walked in.
~Aw, I never knew you were a Transformers fan Nicolette.~ Said Misty
as he floated into the room.
~Hey, let's check around the place. maybe there's a hidden underground
room.~ Said Skin as he walked in front of them all. He then stopped
for no reason, and pulled out his gun.
~Skin, why the gun? Is something wrong?~ Shift asked, taking care to
not move from behind Chamber and Authority. Then, one of the desert
coyotes that Authority had brought started snarling at an invisible
figure. Skin shot twice, each bullet going out in front of him, then
disappearing into thin air. A thud shook the ground and stirred up a
cloud of dust in front of the group.
~Cloaked guards. Apocolypse's technology." Said Penance as she walked
next to Skin.
~I'm getting some telepathic signals about 20 yards from here.~
Chamber said, as he looked toward a hall on their left.
~Well then, shall we?~ Said Slash as she started to walk backwards down
the hall. They then heard a clump, and saw Paige rubbing her head.
Authority's coyotes were sniffing and scratching at the brick wall in
front of all of them.
~They have a scent. The captured mutants are behind the wall.~
Authority said as he tried to coax the animals from the wall. Slash
had already started taking the wall down, while Misty floated through
the wall to check and see what was waiting for them.
~You guys ain't gonna believe this. All this technology! And, I can see
the two captured muties. One is a familiar face..~ Misty said, as he
came back to the team.
CRACK!
BLAM!
~Be on guard for tracker beams and robots. Shift, teleport Penance over
to the controls so she can shut down the defense systems. Authority,
Skin, Chamber, and I will get the prisoners down. Slash, Misty, watch
our backs.~ Dream Weaver stepped out as Shift and Penance blinked over
to the command post. After a few minutes, a large flash lit up the room
and Penance spoke.
"Systems disarmed."
~Well, lets see who Essex has locked up here.~ Skin said as he walked
over to two coffin like boxes, with glass over the top. ~Oh look, its
Ms. I'm too good to thank and work for the man who saved me.~
~Who's that?~ asked Authority as he walked next to Skin.
~Its Jubilee, from the X-men. Back when Apocolypse saved us from the
Phalanx, she claimed that she didn't owe him anything and that we were
fools. That he would use us for genetic scrap.~
~So who's th'bugger in th'other coffin?~ ask Chamber as he pushed open
the lid. A young man it a glowing eye and a white streak in his brown
hair was in it.
~That's Nate Grey. An outcast from another dimension. I had no idea
that he had formed an alliance with the X-men.~ "Mr. Grey." Dream
Weaver touched his shoulder and gently shook it. The young man slowly
opened his eyes and sat up.
"Wha happened?" He put his hand over half his face.
"Apocolypse sent us to help you. He instructed us to get you out and to
safety."
"Apocolypse... he is... in this dimension... good?" Nate said as he
tried to get up. Chamber made him sit down and looked at Dream Weaver.
"Yes. He saved each of us from death. Without him, well, we wouldn't be
here. Once he discovered that the traitor Nathaniel Essex had captured
you against your will, he sent us to set you free. If you like, we
could take you to meet him." What she wanted to say was that they had
found out Sinister's plans. She had suspisions that En Sabah Nur knew
what was happening here. And she wanted to say that Apocolypse had
ordered them to bring the two mutants there back with them, but if she
had, she would be betraying Apocolypse, and would lose Nate Grey, a
powerful potential ally.
"Then, I will go with all of you, to meet with him."
"Nate, don't." Jubilee was up, barely. She was now struggling with
Skin, who was trying to keep her in her glass coffin. "They're liars.
All of them. Apocolypse is evil. You can't trust them. And let go of
me Angelo!"
"We'll let the two of you talk fer a few. When you've made yer decision
Nate, let us know, and we'll come back over." Chamber was no fool.
Giving Nate all this space would convince him that they were the good
people. Plus this way, his team could decide how to deal with Jubilee.
Authority, Skin, Dream Weaver, and him left the two alone, and joined
Shift and Penance, who where standing by the door with Slash and Misty.
"So, what are we going to do with the X-men medler?" asked Penance, who
was now making a checklist of technology that was most likely stolen.
"I think we should let her be. It really makes no difference to me."
said Shift, who was watching the two prisoners argue.
"Well, look where hanging around with the X-men got me? Why shouldn't
I try talking to them! Its my life!"
Authority was silently talking with a rat who was walking around the
area. Skin had taken out a cigar and was starting to smoke. Slash was
looking over status reports that Sinister had written. Chamber had put
his arm around Dream Weaver's shoulders.
~So wot're you gorra do?~ He asked her silently.
~I'm not sure. Jubilee, well, she's our enemy. We should bring her to
Apocolypse.~ She wanted to have him keep his arm around her, but she
shrugged it off, trying to keep her strong sense of pride.
~But is it the right thing to do?~
~I don't know...~
"Sandra! So, what are we gonna do with the traitor?" Slash asked,
holding on to the reports.
Dream Weaver took up a strong stance. "We set her free. We tell Nate
that she doesn't wish to go with us, so she may return home. He will
see that Apocolypse is open minded and will join us."
"But won't he be displeased?" Authority asked as he let the rat go on
its way.
"No, its the perfect plan. Nate is more powerful than her, and the high
lord has already shown his disapproval of Jubilee. He will be pleased."
said Penance as she started to walk away and send in a status report in
to Gregory at the base.
Nate walked over. "I am going to come with you, but before I do, what
are you all going to do with her?"
"We're gorra teleport 'er 'ome Mate." Chamber said. As he said it, a
vortex appeared behind Jubilee, and she stepped into it, back to her
home.
"Ready?" Shift asked as she started their vortex. Everyone nodded. The
vortex opened. They all stepped through.
