Story Title: "Massachusetts Chainsaw Massacre: A GenX Shocker"
Story: Larry Hama, Pencils: Ale' Garza, Inks: Cabin Boy
Characters in issue: Jubilee, Husk, Chamber, Synch, Skin, Monet, Penance
Guest Stars: None
Guest Villians: Bastion (as ?), Sabertooth (as Freddy Kruger), Omega Red (as Jason), Emplate (as Leatherface)
It's a quiet evening at the Acadamy with all the GenX ladies endulging in make-up and nail polish. Skin walks in and trips on the rug which sends all the horror movies he was holding into the air. The girls argue that they wanted to watch "Girl movies" so M leaves to check on the refreshments...mmmm....sugar bombs! At least Ev can cook...Chamber just ends up destroying the popcorn when he frys it with his mutant energy. (the microwave wouldn't work..can't blame him for not trying!) With the refreshments done, we start the films with "Friday the 13th" and this freaks Jubilee out. Skin jokingly mentions that Jubes is under age and wraps her head up so she can't see, Synch agrees and "mentions" to Jubilee that scary movies can cause "Terminal Dream Syndrome". Huh? Monet comments the theory that "if you are having a dream and die in it...you really do die." Jube gets scared but tells Angelo to go to the gory parts anyway...and the "Massachusetts Chain-Saw Massacre" begins....
Jubilee wakes up and everyone is gone. She finds Skin and they follow an old granny who's sneaking around the mansion. She wanders into the bathroom where Paige is taking a shower and attempts to slash Paige who quickly husks to brick. The granny turns out to be Bastion! Skin then rips off the suit to reveal that he has a bomb. BOOM! Skin and Jubes fly against the wall and that's the end of Paige. Jube just convinces herself that she needs to wake up but at that moment Sabertooth (Freddy Krueger) bursts from the floor and rips Skin to shreds. Jubes runs from Sabertooth and sees Monet and tries to warn her...too late! Monet's too envolved in her nails to notice and Sabertooth shreds her as well. With this, Jubes yells for Penance to "sic him" and she promptly does. When Jubes goes to congratulate her (she's treating her like the old Penny mind you) Penny gets wacked in the head by Omega Red (Jason)! Jubes turns and heads down the hall straight into Chamber who easily dispatches Omega Red (so he thinks...) Omega Red runs straight through his blaze and whacks him in the head too!
Jubilee runs into the kitchen and yells for Ev to hide...he doesn't believe her and merely replies "Oh Jubilee -- You are such a card!" They then hear a chainsaw and as Jubilee slams the kitchen door...it's busted down by a disguised Emplate! (Texas Chainsaw Massacre) Ev synchs with Jubilee's powers and fights off Emplate...only to be whacked by Omega Red who snuck up on him. Everyone gangs in on a frightened Jubilee who hides in the corner and...she wakes up! Jubilee glances up to find the gang hovering over her, she relates her dream and...wait! What do you guys have behind your backs? Scream masks? AARRGGGHHH! Jubilee lets loose a barrage of fireworks, they were going to scare her! This ends with the gang running away laughing. So how was this issue besides a filler issue? You decide...
GENERATION X #42:
Story Title: "She Came From the Stars"
Story: Larry Hama, Pencils: Terry Dodson, Inks: Rachel Dodson
Characters in issue: White Queen, Banshee, Jubilee, Husk, Chamber, Synch, Skin, Monet, Penance
Guest Stars: Gaia
Guest Villians: Bianca LaNeige and the seven intergalactic dwarves, Albert, Elsie Dee
Here we find the gang bored out of their skull as they watch Banshee attempt to putt. As they wait, two girls named Betsy and Ronee, openly (I mean openly) comment on Chamber. Monet motions to Paige that they're looking to "poach on your turf, Guthrie" and Paige merely replies, "Oh? I hadn't noticed that my brand was on his rump, Monet." Well, the girls continue to um....get Chamber's attention, and Paige just lets them. This continue's until Ronee tries to pull off Chamber's mask, so what does Paige do? She slugs her! How out of character can Paige be? More out-of-character situations show the girls cheering Paige on as Banshee and Emma just continue to play golf. Well, we see Bianca LaNeige's ship is sitting on top of the golf hut, waiting to attack Emma. Unfortunatly at this time Psylocke is in a battle with Ananasi the Trickster. (see X-Men #77) This releases a psionic pulse through the psi-plain that hits every person weilding a psi-talent. Among those are Emma, Chamber and Bianca who collapse helplessly. Emma collapses on the ground and Chamber falls on Ronee who then attempts to perform "CPR". Ronee and Betsy flip out as they see he has psionic energy for a mouth and run away.
The owner then arrives, and call me crazy, but when you see someone's lower face in flames would you be screaming: "Don't look now son -- but your mouth is on fire! HELP! Somebody get a fire extinguiser! *Sigh*...yet more wonderful dialogue by Larry Hama. Well, Emma attempts to mindwipe him but she can't use her psi-power! The GenXers take off and soon realize that Chamber can't speak and Emma can't use her mind powers. As they drive down the road they come to a car accident...that girl looks familiar...it's Gaia! (well somewhat...purple hair?) Gaia attempts to mind-wipe Chief Authier to forget the accident but she can't mind wipe either. Authier tells her to stop bugging him, he's been keeping an eye on her since she built that weird Picasso-like house last week. As Emma discusses mind-wipes with Banshee, Authier says not to bother since his "sight" is turned off as well. He tells her he knew she had "the power" since he first met her at the diner. (So how come she didn't know he had it?) Emma attempts to fake her way out of it but Authier just tells them that if they take Gaia back to the Acadamy to straighten it out, then he won't write up a report. The GenXers happily agree and leave. Meanwhile we find Bianca's ship searching for Emma again...until they get hit that is. What hit them? Who else but Albert and Elsie Dee. Albert is a cyborg Wolverine and Elsie Dee is a young cyborg girl who's basically a bomb. Hama likes to throw Wolverine characters into the pages of GenX for no apparant reason. So far the record is the Token, the Pooka, Chimera, Dirtnap and now Albert and Elsie Dee.

Story Title: "An Eye for an Eye"
Story: Larry Hama, Pencils: Terry Dodson, Inks: Rachel Dodson
Characters in issue: White Queen, Banshee, Jubilee, Husk, Chamber, Synch, Skin, Monet, Penance, Gaia
Guest Stars: None
Guest Villians: Bianca LaNeige and the seven intergalactic dwarves
Welcome to the Bio-Sphere, Generation X's training grounds. Now's the time for a lesson on defence without using your powers, all taught by Banshee. With the White Queen, Chamber and Gaia without their powers due to the psi-blast, (X-Men #77 and GenX #42) they are vunerable. Banshee starts off the "fight", while Jubilee whines about the pizza she ordered, by asking Chamber how he's going to warn the others when a threat approaches. With that he whips a basketball at his head. Chamber blows the basketball apart with the energy he can still contain. Banshee then quickly spins around to throw a backhand punch to the White Queen...and Banshee gets pummeled to the ground! As this "fight" continues, Bianca warns the dwarves NOT to crash the ship and return to Massacheusetts to extract her revenge.
Banshee fakes defeat and promptly defeats the White Queen...so he thinks...never turn your back to the White Queen because Kidney punches to the back are not fun. Meanwhile in Cape Cod, Bianca is telling the tale of why she wants revenge on Emma Frost. Apparantly her own company was bought out by Emma's and she was promptly fired. Bianca didn't want her inventions in Emma's hands so she hid her main project away, this machine could break the barrier between dimensions. Unfortunatly she became trapped in the other dimension. On the plus side, she did gain amazing powers. So what next for the GenXers? As Synch goes to the door to get the pizza, it's none other than Dorian and Weasel as the delivery boys. Synch can't help but smile though as Bianca's ship crushes their delivery car. The others run out to see what the problem is and they come face to face with Bianca and her dwarves. Synch runs into the house to find Gaia as the battle begins...with Emma running away from Bianca in to the kitchen of all places. :) Pwang! Emma nails Bianca in the head with a frying pan... that didn't work. Smash! Emma smashes a jar of mayonnaise on her head... that didn't work. Now what? Emma pulls the same manouver that Banshee tried on her and proceeds to pick up... a watermelon?
Back at the Bio-Sphere, the dwarves fall back as Chamber blows up their cannon and the GenXers run to the house to find out if Emma is okay. She must be as she lightly munches on some chunks of watermelon by the now unconsious (and covered in chunks of the treat) Bianca LaNeige. The only thing that stops that moment is the ringing of the phone. Banshee, it's for you. It's your daughter Theresa...

Story Title: "Comings & Goings"
Story: Larry Hama, Pencils: Terry Dodson, Inks: Rachel Dodson
Characters in issue: White Queen, Banshee, Jubilee, Husk, Chamber, Synch, Skin, Monet, Penance, Gaia, Artie, Leech
Guest Stars: Theresa Cassidy (Siryn from X-Force)
Guest Villians: Bianca LaNeige and the seven intergalactic dwarves
Bianca LaNeige and the Dwarves are hard at work rebuilding the biosphere as Artie and Leech happily snap Candid camera shots of the crew. Banshee leaves them in charge until he gets back from meeting Theresa at the airport and dropping Paige off. On the other side of the biosphere happens to be quite the reversal. A gloomy Jubilee and a hyper Gaia with a box of "Sugar Bombs" are talking about their feelings over Everett. Jubilee admits she's worried about him since he was beat up by Dorian and Weasel. (GenX #39) Everett and Skin then walk out the door and Jubilee notices Ev leave off alone and Skin walking back in with his cigar box....wasn't that the box that Skin hides his gun in? This frightens Jubilee and she runs off after Ev.
At the airport we see Sean, Jono and Paige greeting Sean's daughter Theresa. (Siryn from X-Force) With a two hour wait for their flight, Sean and Theresa go into town while Paige and Jono stay at the snack bar. At that particular moment it switches over to a watchful Jubilee sneaking through the paths of the woods, following Ev. She's worrying so much that Tracy (renamed "Stacy" for some odd reason) surprises her. At the snackbar we find Paige telling Jono that she doesn't know how long she will be gone for since her mother is very ill, she says that Sam (Paige's brother from the X-Men) wouldn't say much on the phone so she knows that it's bad for her. She asks Jono if he will stick with the program until she gets back and he promptly writes "I promise" on the paper he was carrying. (can't speak due to the psi wave) Meanwhile we close in on Everett as he confronts Dorian and Weasel who are pedaling their bikes to their next pizza delivery. Everett simply says "I've got something for the both of you--" before Jubilee yells out for Ev not to shoot!
As Banshee is asking for forgiveness from Theresa, Paige is asking if Chamber has anything to say before she leaves. He takes a quick glance around and sends a controlled burst to burn a heart in the paper, stunning Paige. Again, back in town, Ev pulls out a wad of cash and hands to the guys. He tells them to put a down payment on a new car since their's was destroyed in the attack last issue. A still angry Dorian quickly snatchs up the money while a space-time flux is opening up inside the biosphere. At the airport, Paige marvels at how Chamber has learned to control part of his flames. She begins to tell Chamber on how she is understanding her powers a bit more as Chamber simply puts a finger to her mouth and hugs her goodbye. At the same time, Ev tells Jubilee and Tracy how he borrowed the money from Skin and that Skin threw the gun away. He decided to pool their money together to give to the guys and how he thinks that Dorian and Weasel see the GenXers as rich snobs while they work hard to earn their money. He simply states that somebody has to stop hating back and Jubilee simply grabs Ev in a hug and mumurs, "Ev...you're the best."
With that accomplished, Paige leaves and Sean and Theresa comment on Paige hoping the trip will do her some good since she hasn't been herself lately, Theresa thinks she's an apple polisher which does not go over too well with Chamber. Back at the Acadamy, Gaia and the White Queen are talking over Gaia's powers when suddenly Gaia wheels back from a telepathic jolt....the White Queen's powers are returning! At that time, Artie and Leech enter all in a panic and pull the White Queen and the others outdoors. What happened to the biosphere? It's gone! The only evidence that it ever was there is by a picture from Artie's camera on the ground. The Biosphere WAS there, but it looks old and the city in the background is different, where did it go?.....or WHEN did it go?

Story Title: "Lost & Found"
Story: Jay Faerber, Pencils: Terry Dodson, Inks: Rachel Dodson
Characters in issue: White Queen, Banshee, Jubilee, Chamber, Synch, Skin, Monet, Penance, Gaia, Artie, Leech
Guest Stars: None
Guest Villians: None
The first issue written by Jay Faerber: Emma cooly walks by everyone into her office which she angrily tears apart. Upon Sean entering, she merely leaves him in the wrecked office to wonder. Jubilee and Skin are also in the process of rousing Jono out of his slump, by getting him to join them in a game of basketball. It's a no-go and he merely looks at a picture of Paige as they leave. Down the hall Gaia approaches Ev and thanks him for saving her from the Universal Amalgamator and promptly flirts with him leaving little hearts floating around his head. :) Now in the gym we find Emma boxing up a storm and turns in surprise to find Banshee watching. Emma isn't up for a "shoulder to cry on" speech....
Outside where the biosphere used to be, M is interrogating Artie and Leech about the missing biosphere. Synch and M ponder how it disappeared and humor Leech when he thinks Galactus ate it. After a few cracks at Ev, she reveals that it hurt her feelings that no one even asked how she was when the psi-wave hit, that she lost powers as well. A surprised Ev mumbles out, "Wow. You, Umm...You want a hug or something?" to which M sniffs, "Oh please, Everett. Don't you wish!" Back in the gym over a demolished punching bag, Emma angrily relates that her powers where all she had, they were a way of life to her miserable life and when Sean tries to relate, this only makes her furious. This quickly starts up a boxing match between the two. Everyone else is pressed up to the door trying to listen in on the situation. As the fight rages on, Banshee quips that she has always been a survivor and he never thought she give up now. Emma goes to swing back at the comment only to scream in pain and fall to the floor crying. Sean leans in to help Emma until she hugs Sean retelling that her powers are back. They notice they're hugging they quickly back away. Chamber approaches the others and asks them why they're leaning against the door, the others tell him to be quiet until they realize that Chamber spoke. His powers are back! What a minute...you got them back a few days ago? The gang's puzzled but welcome him back anyway. With that the teachers exit the gym and call them outside for a meeting. Emma states that she's not worried about the biosphere or Bianca but that now that she has her powers back, things are going to change. Also she states that Gaia has officially enrolled in the Acadamy to learn more about their world, that the team will be receiving new uniforms and she triumphantly states that starting tomorrow -- Everything Changes.

Story Title: "The Quality of Mercy"
Story: Larry Hama, Pencils: Aaron Lopresti, Inks: Waldon Wong
Characters in issue: White Queen, Banshee, Jubilee, Chamber, Synch, Skin, Monet, Penance, Gaia
Guest Stars: None
Guest Villians: None
GenX is back in classes! It seems that the State Educational Standards Board is sending a Miss Pickwick over for an inspection, if they don't look like a real school then they face the possiblity of being shut down. The genxers listen half heartily as they fidget in their "new uniforms". School uniforms that they must wear and they also must now call their teachers by their proper names on a regular basis. In class with Monet's usual insulting, Ev retorts that she should be more humble after being trapped in the body of Penance for so long. Monet states that she feels bad for the twins and that they've agreed to be patient until GenX can find a cure for her(them). Emma pipes up to this and asks how Monet was listed as Yugoslavian, Monet then replies that she was born in Yugoslavia when her parents were on a skiing holiday and she has three passports. Her three passports list her as Algerian, French and Yugoslavian with a full name as Monet Yvette Clarisse Maria Therese St. Croix. With that mystery solved, Banshee decides to clear the air by letting the kids train in the gym.
As the training session begins with Emma teaching the girls and Banshee the guys, a heated argument starts up between Emma and Monet on Emma contradicting herself when she said never to use powers for personal gain. On the other hand, Banshee also has his hands full when Ev asks him what to do with his crush on Gaia, after all she is over a 1000 years old. A flustered Banshee tries to help him as another argument ensues with Skin and Chamber. It seems that Chamber took Angelo the wrong way when he asked him why he was looking so "down in the mouth". Back to the girls, Jubilee isn't fairing well in her attempt to defend Emma, she only makes her look worse to a bored Monet. At least Banshee's talk with Ev is fairing better. The only thing though, how can they win over the inspector when they can't even get along in a simple gym workout? It looks like they can't, as later Miss Pickwick is so appauled at how the school is run that she collapses with a heart attack! They jump in the van as the ambulance would take too long, that and an ambulance doesn't have a psi-talent to keep the patient from going into shock. Unfortunatly they encounter troubles along the way, Chamber neatly blasts a jackknifed truck in the way and as they skid off the road, Penance leaps out the speeding van and slashes the trees in their path to save her friends. Monet acts as an overhead spotter as Penance slashes a path below but the problem is that with Emma in Miss Pickwick's mind, she can "see" and "hear" everything! If that's not enough, heading towards a cliff is! With Synch boosting to Gaia's powers, they use Gaia's telekinetic power to ease their van to safety and head back to the road to the hospital while Emma telepathically lets the hospital know they are on their way.
A week later and still anxiously awaiting to see if their cover is blown, Emma receives a call that Miss Pickwick has been released. Shortly after they find Miss Pickwick at their door wishing to speak to them. She tells them how she felt during the whole experience and how she can't believe that they would jepordize themselves like that to save her life. She believes they truely mean well by their students and states she will give them the highest recommendation possible, GenX will stay open!

Story Title: "She Got Game"
Story: Larry Hama, Pencils: Aaron Lopresti, Inks: Waldon Wong
Characters in issue: White Queen, Banshee, Jubilee, Chamber, Synch, Skin, Monet, Penance, Gaia, Artie, Leech
Guest Stars: Forge
Guest Villians: Paradox
Training sessions will never be the same again. The team is ambushed by a sentinel as they are gathered in the gym for a training session. With teamwork the GenXers quickly destroy their foe and their surrounding return to normal to reveal their new "danger room". Forge is visiting the GenXers in order to install their new danger room and the first test went well! As Banshee and Forge leave, Banshee questions him on the disappearance of their biosphere, Forge tries to explain that he thinks that "Krakoa" (the living island) needs to be whole again. With the biosphere once being a part of it, where else would it go? Continuing on, Forge informs him on the background of his new technology used in the danger room. He's not even sure where it came from but he claims it's safe as long as it's not internally tampered with. Meanwhile in the gym, the White Queen tries to explain why Gaia hadn't joined them in the session, with her background, Gaia is a special case to deal with. Speaking of people not joining in, Artie and Leech are up in the attic cleaning it up as it's going to be their new room! The White Queen has decided they belong at the Acadamy and are going to have special classes for them. After the session the GenXers enter their classroom where Forge begins a lecture on the responsibilities they must know in their training. Again, Gaia is not there but she decides to try a little basketball practice. As she continues unsuccessfully, she finally morphs the hoop with her powers to sink the ball...not a good thing to do.
While everyone is discussing their views, their wall explodes and "Paradox" crashes in! Apparently Forge tried to purge this sentient being from the system he installed in the danger gym but it was not entirely successful, Gaia's morph was all it needed to revive it. Paradox is enraged that Forge tried to "kill" him and the battle rages on, unfortunately a cyber-morph is hard to kill, let alone get a hand on! In the fight as Synch has asked Forge for the binary code used to deactivate Paradox, Forge displays a holograph of it for him. (NOTE: this code is not 1's and 0's, take a look closely at it and see what "codes" you find - see the nobody's perfect section for a picture) :) Since Forge didn't bring the equipment to access it's memory, how are they going to defeat it? The White Queen is the answer. Synch synchs to her psi-powers and drops the code in it's memory returning it to a basketball hoop. They can finally get back to training, it also looks like Gaia's starting to get the hang of basketball.

Story Title: "Foxes & Scorpions"
Story: Jay Faerber, Pencils: Terry Dodson, Inks: Rachel Dodson
Characters in issue: White Queen, Banshee, Jubilee, Husk, Chamber, Synch, Skin, Monet, Penance, Gaia
Guest Stars: Maggott
Guest Villians: None
This issue is Jay Faerber's first issue as writer of GenX. Welcome aboard Jay! Everyone is hanging on for their lives as a breach in their "space ship" sucks the air and everything with it out the hole. Jubilee isn't so fortunate and Skin is the only who manages to save her. An unimpressed Banshee shuts off the simulation in their new danger room and begins a lecture. He wants them to try harder and take it seriously as if it were a real situation, they'd all be dead. Dead? That's what Emma's financial planner is going to be after he causes a huge loss for Emma Frost. Things aren't going smoothly for Jubilee and Monet either. The two argue about who is going to use the danger room for more training. Jubilee finally suggests a one-on-one. Along the lines of one-on-one's a conversation isn't what Chamber had in mind as an ecstatic Paige arrives back at the Acadamy from visiting her sick mother. As the White Queen thinks about it as she watches Paige and Jono through her window, her only quick fix to get out of her money situation is to turn to her sister...
In the danger room with insults flowing left and right from the two, Jubilee finally counters with, "St. Croix, That's a real nice attitude to have, considering all I've done for you." Monet turns in fury, "All you've WHAT?". Meanwhile on a stroll through the campus grounds, Paige tries to get closer to Chamber and this spooks him to the point where he makes up excuses and leaves. The White Queen tells Banshee that she's going to ask her older sister Adrienne for help. She tells how there were three children in the family who all developed mutant powers but Emma's was the only 'blatant' one. While Emma had escaped from the institution she was put in, Adrienne was already becoming a more successful entrepreneur than herself. She's not looking forward to asking her for help, but she will. Things aren't looking too good in the danger room either as Jubilee and M continue to battle. Jubilee asks (commands really) why she is acting like this to her when she was so nice to her in her Penance form. "Nice to me?! You brought me apples, Lee. Like I was your favorite horse. You didn't treat me like a friend, you treated me like a pet!" is an angry Monet's answer. With Jubilee quickly dodging a boulder, she can't believe just how infuriating the real Monet is. Monet finally approaches Jubilee to tell her why she treats her this way, she starts to tell her with a choke hold and a slam into the wall. It was a fable her father told her as a child about a fox and a scorpion...(I won't spoil it for you)...she finishes with a smile, simply replying, "It's my nature." Banshee enters the room in surprise at the site of the fight and eventually lectures them not to use the danger room without supervision. As Banshee leaves and the two look at each other, Jubilee warns Monet not to mess with her. This only produces a laugh and an insult about Jubilee and Wolverine. While inside the Acadamy is in tension, a visitor at the front door can't wait to see what's inside. A grinning man codnamed "Maggott" is anxious to learn about his abilities. Good Luck!

Story Title: "Trophies"
Story: Jay Faerber, Pencils: Terry Dodson, Inks: Rachel Dodson
Characters in issue: White Queen, Banshee, Jubilee, Husk, Chamber, Synch, Skin, Monet, Gaia
Guest Stars: Maggott, Adrienne Frost
Guest Villians: Constantine Francis Slaughter AKA: Slaughter
A well equipped man has been following tracks for some time now and these tracks have lead to the Massachusetts Acadamy. Unsuspecting are the guys as they have a game of basketball in the gym. Maggott flips out when he sets his eyes on Paige, her new short haircut seems to have won him over. Chamber tries to comment on her new cut only to be brushed off. As the girls head out, Maggott asks where the headmistress is since Bobby told him she walks around in her lingerie. Ev informs him that she went to Boston for personal business. Ev was right as Emma storms into Meridian Enterprises and charges into Adrienne's office against her secretary's wishes. In the middle of a phone discussion on Superhuman mercenaries, Emma storms in on Adrienne, demanding to speak to her. With a smirk she ends the conversation and asks to what she "owes the pleasure" to Emma's visit. Meanwhile as Maggott is still talking about Paige as the guys head outside, Ev asks Maggott if the X-Men are as cool as Jubilee is always making them out to be. He agrees completely, saying how the X-Men are his idols. As Ev begins to talk about his idol, the Black Panther, Eany and Meany (two maggots that live as Maggott's digestive system) are shot with darts. Coming to collect his "trophies" is the well armed man known as "Slaughter". Synch asks Chamber if it's okay to Synch up with him, but before he can say anything, Synch is off flying with Chamber's power towards Slaughter.
Adrienne can't believe what her sister, Emma is asking of her. She wants money? With Adrienne being more of a success with money than herself, she pleads with Adrienne for help for the Acadamy. Help is what the guys of GenX need against Slaughter. Synch gets caught and Chamber isn't that far behind. Skin is the sole one left, much like Adrienne is Emma's last hope. Adrienne asks Emma to leave the room as her business phone rings. As she pushes Emma's purse aside, her psychometric powers kick in and she sees that Emma runs a school for mutants, perfect. She calls Emma back in and agrees to help her, but on one condition. Back to the Acadamy, the guys are tied together in the middle of the woods and with the maggots gone, Maggott isn't going to last too long. Synch doesn't want anything else to happen so he synchs up with Maggott to create his own maggots to break them free. The guys escape and close in on Slaughter as the maggots break free and eat up Slaughter's weapons pack. With nothing left Slaughter releases a teleportation device to escape, after all he has other trophies he can catch, maybe even a few mutants. Later at the Acadamy, Banshee is talking to the guys about what has happened. Maggott lets the guys know that he won't be attending the Acadamy but instead he will hunt down Slaughter before he can do anymore damage. Banshee doesn't agree but he lets him go as the White Queen returns home. Behind her walks in Adrienne, proudly announcing that she is their new headmistress. The Acadamy is in for quite a change!
GENERATION X #50: (War of the Mutants Part 1 of 2)
Story Title: "War of the Mutants - Part one: Divided We Fall"
Story: Jay Faerber, Pencils: Terry Dodson, Inks: Rachel Dodson
Characters in issue: White Queen, Banshee, Jubilee, Husk, Chamber, Synch, Skin, Monet, Gaia
Guest Stars: Nate Grey (X-Man), Madeline Pryor
Guest Villians: Mr. LeGault, Dark Beast, Hemmingway, Vessel, Membrain, Fever Pitch
The members of Generation X are facing a bigger change than they expected. It turns out that the Acadamy has opened it's doors to human students to recover from it's financial loss. Some members are furious while the others are impressed. As they discuss the situation they don't realize that they are being watched. Dark Beast (once an ally with Emma) and his crew have been keeping an eye on them as Dark Beast would like to experiment with their DNA. In the offices of the Acadamy, Emma notices a news report on tv, it seems that Nate Grey had been spotted over Dublin, Ireland. Emma resorts to her old ways as she attempts, against Adrienne's advice, to establish a mind link with him to see what bits of information she can glean. As Nate is resting and talking with "Madeline" (her visage in a cloud), he feels Emma enter his mind. The problem is that a mind link can work both ways, Nate now knows who invaded his mind and quickly soars off to find her.
The GenXer's have decided to spend a day in Boston to unwind from the events at the Acadamy. Monet spirits Ev away from Jubilee, while Husk blows off Chamber and heads out with the girls to catch the red line. Jubilee comments to Husk that she might be overdoing the cold shoulder treatment but she replies strongly on the fact that if Jono wants to play head games with her, then don't expect her to go easy on him. At the Acadamy we find Banshee looking over the security systems and talking to the new recruit for the opening of gym teacher. As Banshee looks over the screens he sees a boy being chased by a helicopter. Banshee springs into action and nearly blows his cover. Walking out of sight from the students, he surveys the scene and flies after the helicopter. Back to those in Boston, Skin and Chamber talk about how they are going to blend in with the humans at the school. Skin will be passed off as someone with a rare pigmentation disorder and Chamber as a burn victim who is mute. Skin jokes saying that he should have "elephantiasis" and live in the bell tower, with this he molds himself into the form of Quasimodo to an impressed Chamber. On another side of town we see that Monet has brought Synch to a tattoo parlor. Saying how she was trapped in a razor sharp body, unable to touch or be touched, she feels that a tattoo would be almost a celebration. Saying how people take their sense of touch for granted, Monet leans into Everett to kiss him only to be interrupted as a large pile of goo pulls itself from the sewer. "Membrain" throws gobs of goo at the two which begins to drain them with a psi-attack. Attempting to fight off the psi-attack while battling Membrain, they fall prey and are quickly dragged underground.
Aboard a boat traveling the Boston Harbour, Angelo is getting frustrated by Chambers "I'm a freak" talk and plainly tells him to wake him up when he has something original to say. (a well-liked quote among the fans) Before he can say much more though, a voice calls after them. A living skeleton composed of fire, by the name of Fever Pitch, blasts the hull of the boat with his flames. Chamber confronts him as Skin jumps in the water to save a human. As Fever Pitch defeats Chamber and begins to go after Skin, Skin reaches an agreement with him. If he can bring the human to safety, he will go with Fever Pitch. Fever Pitch agrees and flies them away. The girls are enjoying their train ride when , Crash! The passengers are sent flying as a huge mutant smashes in the first portion of the train. The girls pull off their outer layer of clothing to reveal their suits underneath. Spreading out to fight off the two mutants, they are outclassed and fall one by one. Back to Banshee, he's fairing as well. He is attacked from behind and knocked unconscious by a huge muscular man. Shortly afterwards, Emma decides to go for a drive to clear her mind from the psychic hang-over she received from the psi-link she made with Nate Grey. Her drive is short lived however as she is run off the road by a disoriented driver. Getting out from her car and nearly telling the driver where she's going to shove her keys, Gaia staggers out from the car. She tells Emma how they were attacked and she was left for dead, that everyone was attacked and dragged off. Emma worries that the event that killed the Hellions is happening all over again but insists to Gaia that they will get reinforcements and find them. Appearing on the scene, a furious Nate Grey threatens that they will not be going anywhere until she tells him everything she knows about the Dark Beast that he saw in her mind. (Continued from GenX #50) Nate Grey confronts Emma Frost and Gaia about what they know about the Dark Beast. This starts a big psi fight between Emma and Nate, neither turn out as the winner. Gaia shakes them out of there fight by warning them that GenX is still in trouble and needs their help. Next we find GenX down in the sewers as they try to track where they were taken to. They come across a huge door blocking there way. It's a bit more than a door, it's psi-shielded against Emma and Nate. Thing is though, the Dark Beast and Membrain haven't come across Gaia before and she tele-morphs the walls around the door, this gives them access to the horrors inside.
Inside the members of GenX are being experimented on by the Dark Beast and they are being pushed to their limits. Emma tells Nate to get Gaia out of the room immediately as she is a low level empath and she'll be affected by the all the emotions that the GenXers are giving off. It's too late to do that as Gaia gets beaten against a wall by the villains. There stands Wynter, Opsidian the Dark, Fever-Pitch, Integer, Vessel, Hemmingway and Iron Maiden. Thus the battle begins. Nate pairs off against the villains while Emma begins to release the GenXers. The fight is fierce, but GenX take down the villains one by one. During the fight, Emma had taken off in search for the Dark Beast who launched the attack and now she seems to have found him. Problem is though that "he" was just a realistic hologram and he's begun detonating the sewers. The GenXer's rush out of the area and barely make it out alive. Back at the Acadamy, the others begin their search for Sean while Emma implants the areas she knows that the Dark Beast has been. Maybe that will help Nate out some in his search. For now though the search for Sean continues...
