The Sentinels have broken into the building! Tores fights back using a pychic energy attack to slow them down while waiting for Paige's plan to take affect. Paige's plan is to attack from above and split the sentinel group up. Slight problem...Paige and Chamber get taken down and Synch isn't far behind! There's only one chance...Everett has to synch to Monet's invulnerability. Now he's knows what M really is. The next part the plan takes affect...Gil is in the car lot spilling gas everywhere. Cruising out on a scooter, he lights the gas and BOOM! Speaking of boom, that's what happens to Emma when Sean wakes up! Sean's determined to keep Penance away from Emplate and when Emplate arrives, Sean knocks Emma out and Sonic Screams at Emplate, letting Penance escape! Emma tries to reason with Sean but he tells Emma to stay away from the school and screams himself and Penance away to fly back home, leaving Emma behind. Now here's yet another predicament...Daria and Jubilee have escaped! Daria is flying away with Jubilee with sentinels on their tails. Daria drops Juby in the New Mexico desert where she can't be detected by scanners and takes off so the sentinels hunt her instead. Now we go back to the car lot and find it in ruins. Firemen and Gil are searching for survivors and find an injured Synch in the rubble. He uses his Aura as a tracking device to find the others and finds M....Only to free two of her! That's right, the theory was right! Monet really is the young twins combined to form M! Wait till next issue to find out what will happen now!

GENERATION X #32:
Story Title: "A Day at the Circus"

What happened here? Last issue they were trapped under the demolished building, Jubilee was in the desert (and rescued by Wolvy in Wolverine #117) and all of a sudden the comic starts off with everyone in the Acadamy and it's all perfect? Oh Well, Banshee is consulting Moira (of Excalibur) about the M twins on Muir Island. Emma is at the Acadamy and watching the sleeping twins in the Med Unit when Paige asks Emma if she can take the rest to a local circus to lift their spirits. Of course, the circus workers are thieves. Emma agrees, problem is that no one wants to go with Paige. (Jubi is quite content with playing Quake) Eventually they give in and go. No one is at the house now except for Emma and Penance and after what happened to Penny in the few past issues, she runs away from her, and this makes Emma wonder of her position in the school since no one trusts her. While Banshee is trying to convince Moira to go on a picnic, Paige is trying to get everyone to see the main show. Jubi and Ev ditch em and talk about what happened during the ZT (Zero Tolerance storyline) where Ev blames himself for what happened to M. Back at the main show, the ringmaster attempts to hypnotize the crowd and Paige reaches for Chamber to break to spell...only she grabs his scarf by accident. Everyone panics at the sight of Chamber and some run out of the tent which alerts Ev and Jubi. The crew attacks the GenXers. but GenX wins the battle. GenX see how the group cared for each other and only stole from others to live. Jubilee sees a reflection of GenX in them, so for not ratting them to the cops, the thieves agree to donate the profits to local charities. The story ends with Banshee and Moira having a lovely picnic.

GENERATION X #33:
Story Title: "Thieves in the Night"

Emma burns dinner and decides to take the kids out to eat. As they leave, two shadows are sneaking in behind the gate. Emma forgot to set the alarm and the two figures, two kids named "Trace" and Aemon, ransack the mansion. Penance is home taking care of the twins and runs to protect them. In the Diner, the gang is threatened by two townies named Dorian and Weasel and a cop named Chief Authier comes to their aid. On another note, Moira is talking to Banshee about the Legacy Virus, thinking it is associated with Mad Cow Disease. The gang later heads home to find they have been robbed! They realize that no one has checked on Penance and the twins, and when they arrive at the Med Lab, they find it in shambles. Everett finds Penance with the twins in a cabinet, protecting them and when asked who did this, she holds up a Time Magazine and shows them the cover. The Bill and Hillary Clinton? In Emplate's Lair, a door suddenly appears and when opened, out flies Chimera and a few goons. She used her warp chamber to find Emplate and form an alliance. Skin, Husk and Jubilee decide to track down the thieves and come across a store that sells masks, two were stolen last week! They track down one person with the Hillary mask on and he's running to a car...to the same goons from the Diner! They confront them and Dorian and Weasel end up being taken in by Chief Authier. The GenXers get their stuff back except for Husk's Calculus book (holds her diary), Jubilee's hat that Wolvy gave her, and Skin's cigar box (holds a gun) Where's their stuff? Why Trace has it, the other thief with the Clinton mask, she's the daughter of the policeman.
NOTE: This issue is a favorite by fan fiction writers who love MiSTings and hate Larry Hama. :)

GENERATION X #34:
Story Title: "Guilty Secrets"

Sean is back from Muir Island and gets a punch from Emma for what happened in GenX #31. Jubilee, Paige and Angelo arrrive home and give everyone their stuff back. (minus theirs) Sean proceeds to tell Emma about Moira's theory on "M"...Moira thinks that their combination might not have been voluntary but self-preservation, also that when they combine their ages, you get M who is twice as old as the twins. During this, the phone rings and Angelo takes Paige and Jubilee to the Diner...the place that Tracy (policeman's daughter) has told Skin to meet her if they want their stuff back. At the same time, Emplate and Chimera open up a warp hole to get to the GenXers. At the diner, Jubilee tells Tracy she wants the hat back because Wolvy gave it to her and it has great sentimental value. (she gives it back) Skin then tells her about his life in a gang and how he had to fake his death after they killed two people, he kept the gun to remind himself of where he came from. (she gives back the gun) Now to Paige. Tracy read the diary and laughs believing that her life at the acadamy is so boring that she's making up sci-fi stories! She photocopied the writing of Chamber and gives her book back on condition that she be in on their gang and if they can help her solve a problem. The rest of GenX are cleaning the medlab and the wall vaporizes into a warp hole. Chimera, her minions and Emplate come through and as they are attacking and capture Ev, the twins named Nicole and Claudette wake up and combine again into the form of M! She then leaps at Emplate to stop him and combines with him to form M-plate! This should be interesting.

GENERATION X #35:
Story Title: "Pool of Tears"

Husk, Skin and Jubi bring Tracy back to the mansion. Skin goes inside and seeing the danger, he locks Jubes, Husk and Tracy outside. Skin reaches to Ev who synchs to him and ties up the lackey holding him hostage. With all the commotion inside, Jube tells Husk to take Tracy to the biosphere while she sees what's happening. Banshee sails through the door and Husk takes Tracy away. Emma uses psionic blasts on Chimera while M-plate is deciding who's side he/she should take, it decides to go to take Ev and leave with DOA. Banshee fights back only to have M-plate command reality itself and rip the stairwell with ease, holding the GenXers away from them. It fights off a psi attack from Emma and opens a gateway to leave only to be fought back by Jubilee and Husk. M-plate easily returns their powers! She blasts Jubilee through the door where she drifts into a dream similar to Alice in Wonderland...only replacing faces with GenXer's faces. It goes to the point where the red queen (Emma) says "Off with their heads!" to the twins (Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum) and one proceeds to take her head off to show M, takes it off to show Emplate, then M, etc...making Jubilee wonder what this dream means. The twins then takes Jubes head off to show another form and she instantly wakes up. Emma asks if with the psi attack she received, did she see anything. Jubes thinks it was a message until they hear a scream and run to the biosphere and find Tracy gone. Emma says that it's back..who you say? Why the Pooka that's who.

GENERATION X #36:
Story Title: "Strange Doings"

It starts off with the GenXer's checking out the biosphere for Tracy who was captured by the Token. (See Wolverine #94 for the original Token) They decide to split up: Banshee, Paige and Penance to the right, Emma and Skin go left while Jono and Jubilee head up the middle. As Jono and Jubilee go up they find it has been changed into a labyrinth and come to find the Pooka, some large martini swilling weasel. While this is happening, the two punks capture Aamon and send him into a house to steal money...but Chief Authier is right behind and captures them all.
Back at the biosphere, Paige finds a large footprint, that were actually made by the Pooka to direct the rest to the Token. Jono, Jubes and the Pooka then escape into a warp hole to NY to help Ev. Meantime in town, Chief Authier, who is holding the punks, asks Aamon if he knows where Tracy is and he replies that she went to the Acadamy. With that he goes to investigate. While in NY, some kids point them to the 13th floor of Landau, Luckman and Lake which is a mess due to a recent battle between Wolverine and Venom.
At the biosphere they suddenly hear a gunshot as the Chief walks in holding a large rat. He said it had something in it's mouth and gives it to Banshee who knew it was a "lepton imploder". Hmm...I want to know why the chief didn't seem to notice Penance, a small red girl with claws for hands and feet and isn't saying anything about it. Anyway, he asks Emma where Tracy was and she says she doesn't know. Authier makes his way to the treehouse and we see a shot of Tracy, Artie and Leech tied up by the Token. As Banshee, Paige and Penance go to throw out the rat, he suddenly talks and says he faked his death to escape from Authier. He says they can use the imploder to open a portal to find Ev and M-Plate. They do so and take the rat with them into the portal, but Dorian and Weasel are watching all of this. At the same time we end off with M-plate, Chimera and Ev going to find the Universal Amalgamator at a citadel so that M-Plate can meld to any conciousness...

GENERATION X #37:
Story Title: "In Dark Woods, The Right Road Lost"

This opens with Jubes and Jono running from a T-Rex monster called a "Boojum" which stomps the Pooka into the ground. The Pooka does live and the GenXers are not well written in my opinion. Some comments are: --Jono: "That should parboil his retinas!..", --Jono: "Let Chamber take a shot at this overgrown garden newt!", --Jubes: "..sure wish I could crank up the gain on my pafs the way you can with your bio blasts!" and Synch: "I won't cooperate with your nefarious scheme". That and how many times can they make Chamber say "bloody" in a sentence? During the fight with the Boojum, Chamber blows it's head and arms off on they actually ride away on it like it was a horse.

Well, it seems M-Plate has brought Synch to the citadel to synch to the mutant who controls the Universal Amalgamator. Penance, Husk and Banshee have managed to have warped to a winter wonderland where Penny signals towards a train where they climb inside to stay warm. Penny then signals them to a list of destinations of the train, which they use to head to the citadel. Now back at the biosphere we find that Authier informs Emma and Skin that they have a Token in the treehouse and to use porridge and silver to get rid of it. At the same time he nabs Dorian and Weasel who were hiding near by.

With time running out, the pooka, Jubes and Chamber reach a door titled "moira" and after Jubes opens it, they fall down a cavern of bones. Unlike them, the train ride is going smoothly, even Penance tries to make friends with Dirtnap by offering him a piece of cheese as they enter a cavern named "moria". In Massachusetts, as Emma makes a pot of porridge and Skin breaks his piggy bank, they place it on the treehouse ledge only to find Tracy, Leech, Artie and the token having a tea party! Stop this insanity Hama! Now Authier takes the two punks, drops him off at the restaurant and the owner informs them not to open the door marked "WC". (Warp Chamber, no doubt) Chamber, Jubes and the pooka fall from the cavern to land smack in the tracks of the upcoming train! Run for your lives guys! (I mean from Hama..not the train)

GENERATION X #38:
Story Title: "Mystery Train"

We start off with Paige noticing something up the track, It's Jubes and Jono! They slam on the brakes but they were too late, the Snark has been rid of. (I don't think anyone will be sad over that one) Jubilee, Jono and the Pooka latch onto the train as the Snark gets run over, and they struggle to board the train. As we switch to M-plate, it appears that Chimera is changing her mind about this whole almalgamation thing. M-plate doesn't like traitors so she vaporizes her to dust! Back at the train, Elwood the Pooka says it's bad they're slowing down because a huge spider is chasing the train! When they take the brakes off Dirtnap falls off and almost makes it back to the train before he gets snagged with webbing...but Penance saves the day!

In the bio-sphere, Tracy says that the GenXers where trespassing on the Token's turf. Emma's ticked and yells but with Leech's speech, (out of character speech), the Token relaxs and Tracy says that it might be able to get the GenXers back. Now with the thieves at the diner, they open the "WC" after being told twice not to. They notice a stone slab is where the ceiling should be. On the same note, the train is going straight into a vortex! With the brakes not working now they sail into the citadel where M-plate has Synch. M-plate captures them in a bubble and who will save them? Dirtnap! Dirtnap acutally swallows her whole. With her concentration broken, the bubbles have burst. With the distraction, Gaia (the caretaker)is appauled that Synch was synching to her. He tries to apologize saying that he isn't as strong as she is, that he didn't understand the risks and he wanted to save his friends. Back at the treehouse the guys find a stairwell and investigate it.

GENERATION X #39:
Story Title: "Return From Forever"

DOA is jumping on Dirtnap to spit out his "Boss". The combined entities are all trying to emerge from Dirtnap, so he merges into the different forms and the strain is too much. *KABOOM!* Instant tapioca rat chunkies! The three original members emerge from the mess: Nicole, Claudette and Emplate. Emplate says he knows the twins innermost secrets and fears and Nicole comments that, "now we know what happened to the REAL Monet!" With this he grabs Nicole and siphons her energy for her knowledge. Of course this freaks everyone out and the battle begins!

Gaia warns Chamber not to fire his blasts near the amalgamator since the whole citadel is the amalgamator, but it's too late for the warning! Chamber soars a blast at Emplate and the citadel begins to self-destruct. Everyone tries to escape, but Ev won't leave without Gaia who's still chained to the citadel. DOA and Emplate escape with an imploder while the rest jump aboard the train. Jube's looks at the schedule and the next stop is the bio-sphere, they have 1 minute to go! Banshee jumps out to bring Ev back but he won't go, so Banshee knocks Ev out and drags him back. Ev wakes up, synchs to Sean's powers and goes back for Gaia. Just as the train is entering the portal, Penance jumps off after Ev. Penance's razor sharp claws free Gaia from her chains and they find an exit.

At the Bio-sphere, the rest of the GenXer's enter the staircase to find a train fly in with the frantic others. They jump off to tell Emma what's happened to Ev and Penance. The Pooka and Token then leave them and take off with the train! The Pooka tells them to try the Warp Chamber in the diner to find them. At the diner, as the two thugs are removing that slab, *BANG!* Gaia, Penance and Synch come crashing through the portal, landing on top of Dorian and Weasel. Realizing that she's free now, Gaia runs out the door with Penance hot on her heels. The thugs don't appreciate the mess they made and realizing who Synch was, they hit Ev with a sucker punch in the gut and beat Ev to a pulp. The two thugs then put an unconscious Ev in their trunk to dispose of his "barely breathing" body. Later the GenXer's are driving down the road trying to figure out what to do when Paige yells at Sean to pull over, there's a body in the road! Next page shows a full page splash of a beaten, bruised, bloody body on the road. IT'S EV!

GENERATION X #40:
Story Title: "Pride and Penance"

Ev is in a coma in the hospital being treated by Dr. Singh. As Emma, the twins and Chamber walk in, the gang finds out that Ev was not run over as they thought, he was beaten and kicked. Suddenly Ev's power kicks in with Emma and everything goes haywire, items are being destroyed and he's unconsiously lifting everyone into the air save Claudette the autistic twin. Claudette stops his power to everyone's amazement. Jubilee and Paige ask Claudette how she did that but Ev's power kicks back to synch to the twins! He then wakes up and now he knows EVEN MORE of the twins secrets! Now he knows what happened to the "Real Monet" He then tells everyone that he wants to know what happened to Gaia. Everyone's response is "Who?". As Synch is explaining who Gaia is, Authier the cop waltzes in with Dorian and Weasel to tell him that they were the one's who beat him up. Synch turns around and says that he must be mistaken, Dorian and Weasel didn't beat him up. The excuse that Synch uses is: "I must have been disoriented and fallen down." The doctor comes back and with a little help from Emma she "tells" her to let him go home with them. Synch then tells the twins that they have to tell everyone something very important when they get back home.

Nicole begins her story about the "Real Monet". She says that she didn't know the whole story until they merged with Emplate to form M-Plate. It appears that Emplate asks Monet, the twins older sister, to join him to master the other reality (his realm) and then rule the earth realm. Monet being the typical Monet laughs in his face! He then transforms Monet into Penance! He transformed her into Penance, made her body as sharp as her tounge, took away her voice and made her the cutting edge of cruelty as her "Penance" for not serving him. Let's see....we have Monet, a 16 year old french speaking girl from Algeria, then we have PENANCE who is CLEARLY STATED as being a 14 year old girl from YUGOSLAVIA who's name is YVETTE! *Sigh*, Hama really screwed up these two characters.

The twins walk in and see what has happened. Claudette grabs some chalk, and draws a portal which sucks Emplate in to the "bad place". With Emplate being the only one to be able to change her back, Penance jumps in with him and the portal shuts. With Monet gone, their father's favorite daughter, the twins come to the decision that they will form Monet and pose as her! Just as the twins finish, Penance walks in. Nicole begins to cry that she stole Monet's life and vows to make it up to her. How? She merge's back with Claudette, merges with Penance, and they split back apart! The "real Monet" is back and now the twins are trapped in the body of Penance. Now we switch topics to find a spaceship, run by the pirate Bianca LaNeige, take over another spaceship, and what does she change the crew to? Interdimensional 7 dwarves. (yes, dwarves) She heads to earth to beat Emma. To end this junk off....When Ev is asked why he defended Dorian and Weasel, he reminds Chamber and Jubes that revenge is not on his mind, he just wants to find out what happened to Gaia. It switches over to Emma and Banshee looking over "Penance" who is staring out the windows at the stars. Banshee being his concerned self wonders what is going on through her head while Emma asks if she should find out with a probe. He replies no saying that they don't have the right to invade "her" privacy...that her thoughts are no more dangerous than that fallin' star. (We all know what that star is don't we?)
Well, most people who know me know that I was extremely furious when I read this issue. I can't believe what Hama did to my favorite character, Penance. Almost all of the GenX fans that I know of felt the same way.
