GENX #41 -- Now this is something that I hadn't expected from those making the GenX comic. If you look very closely at the two magazines that lay on the table, they say on them, "4:20 gives munchies to kids!" and "4:20 Hee Hee". For those who don't know, 420 is the police code for illegal substances. It's also noted as the universal time for getting high due to said police code (4:20). Flip to the last page of the book and look on the book shelves, you'll also notice the books with titles such as: "High Times", "We Did It", "4:20" and "Am/Pm". I wonder how much trouble this stunt caused. Thanks to Bum's post on the GenX ML for this error.
-- Skin has rented some slasher fics for this issue. Now you'll notice that he ribs Jubilee by saying she's too young to be watching these fics. Now wait a minute. If Jubilee is too young to watch them as she is 13 years old, then why is nobody saying anything about Penance watching them when she's supposed to be two 8 year olds trapped in the body? On top of that, how could Skin rent those 18+ movies since he's only 15 himself?
-- Throughout the book, the logo's on M's shirt keeps disappearing.
-- As Jubilee's movie nightmare continues, she sees Omega Red as the character from "Halloween". His suit keeps changing, he's seen without a chestplate and later with a red
chestplate.
-- Common sense mistake. Now why the heck would Paige be using "Ton's O' Bubbles" bubble bath in the shower?
-- The logo's and writing on Synch's shirt keeps disappearing.
-- Either Synch is shrinking, or his shorts are falling down. Synch seems to be wearing plain socks that come half way up his legs. Look a panel or two over and now these socks have a striped design and are up past his shorts. Eh, who knows.
GENX #42 -- On the opening page, as the characters are listed off, Monet St. Croix is incorrectly listed as "Monet St. Claire".
-- As Emma plays miniature golf with the GenXers, she is wearing plain white gloves, they disappear shortly.
-- Paige is first shown in white shorts, they change to black in the next panel. Also I must say that I can't imagine Paige punching a girl and starting a fight with her for looking at Jono. Also, take note as Paige punched the girl, the girl's head is flung in the wrong direction, as if she were hit with a right, not a left. Thanks to Dan Wilson for that info!
-- As Chamber falls unconscious due to the psi-wave, one of the girls who was flirting with Chamber decides to do CPR. Now tell me, wouldn't his flames burn her fingers off as she sticks her hand behind his bandages?
-- Skin and Synch try to convince the minature golf owner that he's imagining things. Skin is supposed to say "Optometrist", instead it's written "Optometwist".
GENX #43 -- I must say I got a kick out of this senario, so did my brother. Here we see Emma in a fight with Bianca LaNeige. ("White Snow" in different languages, really!) The fight ends up in the kitchen and Emma is determined to take Bianca down. First she nails her square in the back of the head with a frying pan. Nothing happens. Next she smashes a jar of Mayonnaise over her head. Still nothing. So what ultimate weapon do you use? A WATERMELON! *Splurg*, Instant knockout. My older brother and I got a big kick out of this. He laughed the most seeing that he is an Embalmer/Mortician and has had to deal with people who had fallen to hard weapons such as bats, guns and even one killed by a frying pan to the head like the first picture. Now a nice soft watermelon?...That's new to us!
GENX #44 -- For some odd reason, throughout this issue, the character named Tracy Authier is now being called "Stacy".
GENX #45 -- The design for Gaia's shirt changes looks about 3 times. Most noticable is the beige, black and red design on the sleeve that keeps changing to a solid beige.
-- Miasma has emailed me with a valuable suggestion: In Miasa's words: "My query is this: Gaia (much despised Hama Hooker) has the ability to alter reality. Why couldn't she just alter her shirt as well?
PS: U have no idea how much I hate having to defend Gaia.... THE PAIN! THE PAIN!"
GENX #46 -- As the GenXers are cruising in the jeep to get a Miss Pickwick to the hospital, their jeep runs out of control and into the woods. Monet takes charge by flying above the jeep to help Sean navigate through the rough woods. At one point Monet yells out, "Oh No! You're heading for Cliff!". So just who is this Cliff fellow that they're about to run into? Hehehe, heading for A Cliff I can understand, otherwise this Cliff fellow better start running...
-- As the jeep is speeding out of control, you see Penance quickly change suits 3 times. As she jumps out the window, you see her in her school uniform which has bare legs and arms. She then jumps in front of the jeep, clearing the path in the original, full body black suit. When the jeep runs off the cliff and the teens use powers of telekenesis to land the jeep, Penance is now lying on the hood in the black suit, but with no sleeves. Also keep in mind, how the heck can Penance run faster than a speeding jeep? Why isn't she tearing up the hood with her razor sharp skin? On a fun note, look through this issue and count how many times you see a GenXer puff out their cheeks like Penance does in this last image.
-- At the end of the book as the kids are lounging around the living room waiting to hear if Miss Pickwick told the authorities about their powers. Jubilee is seen in her trademark yellow jacket and a pair of blue jeans while Gaia is leaning on the couch wearing a green dress. As someone rings the doorbell, the kids go to see who it is. We now see Jubilee in a black jacket and a blue skirt while Gaia is now in a blue dress.
GENX #47 -- Just because Leech is green doesn't mean that he is a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle. Leech should have been drawn with regular 5-finger hands, not the two finger hands sported by the turtles.
-- As we see Artie and Leech clean up the attic that will now be their home. (from living in the treehouse to living in an attic?) Artie and Leech's clothing keep changing. Leech is first shown in a white shirt, blue overshirt and brown pants. Artie is in a brown shirt with white shorts. Next we see that Leech is in a solid blue t-shirt and brown shorts while Artie has changed to a white t-shirt and brown overshirt. Leech is also drawn with a nose and Artie lacks his. (maybe they just colored each character backwards, still wouldn't explain Leech gaining shorts though) Artie and Leech's word balloons are reversed here, how many times must we tell the creators that little pink Artie has the holographic balloons and Leech speaks fine! Also, I can't see why Leech would be hugging White Queen's leg like that...
-- When Forge displays the coding for Paradox, he says it is 78 lines of 0's and 1's. This hologram is anything but that. If you look at some of the lines backwards, you can make out some words. Click on the image to enlarge it and see if you can find these words (written backwards): run DMC (band) unbaza, epiic, eat corn, buy chix il fio, KISS (band logo), Bill+Monica=luv! Thanks to Quamp for the info.
GENX #48 -- Chamber is talking to Skin about Paige and says he said some serious stuff to her before she left to visit her sick mother. You then see the little X footnote tag. The footnote says, "See issue #44 for details #12". Huh? What's that footnote supposed to mean? I can see the reference to issue #44, but the rest doesn't make sense. Thanks to Quamp for the info.
-- Monet and Jubilee are having a battle in the danger room and Monet has torn a hole in the right leg of her suit. Later on the rip mysteriously disappears.
-- Magott pulls up to the Acadamy in a cab. The cab driver says "That'll be forty-five big ones, Mac.". We then see Magott hand a twenty over to the guy saying, "This should cover it, hey?" and he takes it and leaves! Wow, I wish all cabbies were that generous!
GENX #50 (War of the Mutants Part 1) -- In this picture, X-Man is drawn without his trademark white patch of hair.
X-MAN #50 (War of the Mutants Part 2) -- In GenX #50 (part 1 of a crossover with X-Man for the 50th issue anniversary) we see Gaia has driven back to the Acadamy in a panic after GenX was captured and the villains left her for dead. Asking Emma for help after she nearly ran Emma over, she is in her normal street clothes. Here in X-Man #50 (part 2) it contnues at the talk with Emma, but with Gaia in her battle uniform.
-- Emma and X-Man begin to argue and we see Emma in her business suit of a white blazer and skirt. (Which are white despite this image, the suit was blue in GenX #50, War of the Mutants Part 1) Flip the page and she is suddenly in her white battle uniform. Also in the second image, White Queen's and Gaia's word balloons are switched around.
GENX #54 A couple of times this issue, the tatooed man known as "The Sign" loses his tatoos. Hey, is it just me or does anyone else want to start singing Ace of Base everytime you hear that name? :)
GENX #55 This mistake was apologized for by Jay Faerber. In this image we see a shocked Jubilee looking in her door mirror and seeing the reflection of Catseye, one of the White Queen's dead hellions. The picture and wording on her shirt "Go ez" was not the mirror image of her shirt. (it's not flipped backwards) Jay apologized saying that in the rush of work, reversing this image was missed.
-- Monet is cut by Archangel's Wing-Blade, not his Wind-Blade
Now those are some of the mistakes. I have not listed every single mishap, mainly the obvious and some not quite obvious. I have not listed the following errors due to them being repeated so often:
How many times Artie and Leech can switch with each other. (ex: Artie talking and Leech projecting images)
How many times Jubilee can magically grow and shrink her hair. Even when her head was shaved in #26, it grew back in two days.
I'm not going to mention how many times every GenXer switches eyes colors either. This mainly happens with Penance and Jubilee.
