It seems that Emma (the White Queen) is not the only sibling of the Frost family. There are 3 siblings in the Frost family. Emma Frost is the middle sister to the oldest, Adrienne Frost and the youngest, Cordelia Frost. It seems that the once ruthless nature of the White Queen runs deep in this family as you'll soon see.

Adrienne Frost is the oldest sister of the Frost sisters, her true age is unknown. She was first mentioned in Generation X #48 but first shown in Generation X #49 when Emma Frost needed to speak to her sister about helping her financially with the school after Emma suffered a financial loss. She needed money to keep the school running and although she did not want to go to her snobbish sister, whom she hadn't seen in over eight years, she thought of the mutant teens she was teaching and entered the office. Adrienne is exactly how the White Queen used to be. Adrienne is shown cutting insults into Emma and oozing sarcasm.

Adrienne's psychometric powers kick in - GenX #49 What makes Adrienne stand out beside her sly nature is her unique powers and being able to hide them from everyone's view until she really needs it. In GenX #49 as she asks Emma to leave the room while she takes a business call, she pushes Emma's purse to the side of the table, her eyes widen as her power kicks in. It turns out that she has psychometric powers, an ability to see information from a person's views from the psychic residue that the person has left on items they've handled. Upon touching Emma's purse, information floods her mind, letting her know that the "school" Emma runs is really a place to train teen mutants. Originally she was not going to help Emma out, but with this new information on hand, she decides that maybe she does want to help. Adrienne calls Emma back into the room and agrees to help her, but on one condition, she must be appointed as a head-mistress at the Acadamy. In a tight spot, Emma agrees. This could prove to be a big mistake on Emma's part as Adrienne begins her job at the Acadamy.

Adrienne Frost taunts her sister - GenX #53Shortly after, Emma opens the doors of the Acadamy to human students in order to gain back the money that had been lost. In the situation, the GenX teens face the risk of being found out and therefore Adrienne whips up new costumes for the kids in GenX #51, complete with facemasks so they won't be found out. Giving them the new suits, the kids take off on their first mission, to find Sean who had been captured by Hunter Brawn and Mr. LeGault. While that mission was somewhat successful, their next mission is a difficult task. Paladin, a soldier for hire, had failed his mission that Adrienne had given him, he had to retrieve a sword back from a group of assassins known as the "Rising Sons". Finding his way back to the Acadamy and being discovered by Jubilee, Adrienne tells Jubilee of the situation. Later on with Jubilee's interest in the mission rising, Adrienne sends the kids to Madripoor to retrieve the sword in GenX #53. Emma is furious that Adrienne has done somthing to the kids. Adrienne won't tell her what she has done, and lucky for her, Emma's telepathy doesn't work on her sisters.

Adrienne grins as she thinks of her husband's death - GenX #54The mission is a success and the sword is retrieved. The kids wonder why the sword is so valuable to Adrienne as when they take it out, it is a piece of rusted junk. Emma tells the kids that that was the sword that had been used to kill her husband and that she wants to use her psychometric powers on it to be with him during the last moments of his life. As Adrienne walks away however, she is grinning as the truth was that she wants to share the last moments of his life to see if he knew that she was the one that arranged his death for crossing her. Right now we see that Adrienne is an immediate danger to the kids and this isn't more the truth than GenX #56 when we see her true intentions for her sister and students.

Adrienne states she is the new White Queen - GenX #56In Generation X #55 and 56, the kids have somehow been put into the bodies of Emma's former students, the Hellions, the day before they were killed! As they try to figure out how to save themselves, they're puzzled as to how they have gotten into this situation. It's not until Monet breaks out of the senario and figures out the nature of the attack do they begin to see what has happened. Synch manages to come across Emma who seems to be caught between the two realities and frees her, they then shatter the reality they were trapped in. When everyone comes to, they are shocked to see Adrienne enter the room in a new costume, a "White Queen" costume. Adrienne states that she is the new "White Queen" and she wanted to see her sister suffer as she watched her slaughter her charges the same way Emma's Hellions were murdered. With her plan foiled, Adrienne uses a teleportation device and wisks away, stating that this is only the beginning. Adrienne seems to be one of the most ruthless characters that Generation X has faced so far, it's only a matter of time before Adrienne returns with a new ace up her sleeve.
